About Me

I see life as a journey. Sometimes travelling along this journey can be painful and bewildering. It is not easy facing life’s challenges Talking helps when life seems overwhelming due to depression, anxiety, loss of a loved one through death or separation. We may be under pressure from stresses at work or at home, from lack of resources or relationship pressures.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed to deal with your problem? If so, you’re not alone.

As a counsellor, I will work with you to examine your problems, to learn new skills that will help you to see yourself and the world differently and so enable you to improve things within your control.  I will be with you on your journey as you explore the painful issues in your life in a warm, caring, supportive and safe environment in a relationship of acceptance and non-judgement.

I believe that each person has the potential to change, flourish and to reach their full potential. I believe in the uniqueness of each person and I am a therapist who believes in the power of counselling to change lives. Talking to someone can be a first step on the road of self discovery and self belief previously hidden. A climate of trust enables self exploration to take place and to overcome any obstacles to growth.

Services

Issues addressed in Counselling include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, bereavement and loss, health related issues, obsessions, relationships, low self esteem, self harm, eating disorders, stress, trauma and work related issues.

Working from an integrative humanistic perspective, I draw on different therapeutic approaches – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Gestalt therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapy as appropriate. However, my work is always grounded in a person-centred approach of empathy and respect for the client.

The relationship with my client during the therapy session is vital in our work together. Using these approaches the therapy chosen will be tailored to its suitability for the client to address their particular issues.
